The Coaching At Work team

Coaching At Work has two directors - Jill Green and Richard Bentley - and a growing team of associate coaches and trainers.

JILL GREEN

As an hotelier, I’ve always taken an active interest in people.  After all, for hotels people are both the product and the customer.

I came to coaching in search of a new challenge – something that would both stretch and fulfil me after nearly 20 years’ corporate experience, both in the UK and overseas, and 8 years running my own business.

What I bring to coaching is a passion for developing both individuals and teams to realise their full potential – both in their work and home life. That includes having some fun!

I get a real buzz from working with groups.  I love opening doors to both possibility and growth. As a practical person, I enjoy the common sense approach of coaching.   I know what a huge effect having a coach has had on me – both personally and in my business.  That’s why I’m keen to share the benefits of coaching alongside my business experience with my clients.

Current coaching activity: Personal development, business and group coach,  mentor and workshop leader

Coach training: Coach University (USA) Coach Training Programme, Member International Coach Federation

Background: Hotelier, lecturer, trainer, business owner, business consultant

RICHARD BENTLEY

Business and personal divorces taught me some hard lessons  about relationships... hence the grey hair. But they also gave    me the motivation to search for the principles behind effective relationships, both in and out of the workplace.

Training as a marital therapist, a psychology degree and two    sets of coach training followed, alongside running my own business. More importantly, I began to put into practice emerging ideas in practical situations in the workplace.

Then there was the feedback:

Richard has the gravitas and impact that is required to make something as important as coaching come across in way that is simple to comprehend without dumbing down the benefits of this important business tool, whilst making courses fun and great environment in which to learn.

Our two-day Management Team Meeting was a huge success.   It was tough going; the first day in particular threw up some real problems and I was not sure how it would all end.  However, having agreed the objective with Richard in advance I found it an immense benefit not to have to manage the process as well as think about my own role and how I relate to other team members. As a facilitator he stuck to the terms of reference and time scales, although he did this flexibly, and we got what we wanted - a management team that is united and has a clear sense of its role and priorities in the coming year. Great.

This encouraged me to pursue these techniques and ideas and to bring them together to create the Trust Model for business relationship coaching.

Current coaching activity: Business relationship coach; coach skills trainer; Co-President UK International Coach Federation, UK Head of Training Resulsts Coaching Systems.

Coach training/accreditation: Associate Certified Coach (ICF), Certified (Level 2) Coach with Results Coaching Systems; Co-active Coach Intermediary course with Coaches Training Institute (USA).

Background: Journalist, business writer, business owner, marriage guidance counsellor.
